INTRO TO DRAWING PROJECT 1

Project I(a) (Group 20%)

In this project, students are required to form a group of 5 or 6. Then they have to investigate various type of drawings as it means by communication. The findings are then be collected and in form of presentation. Each group must send a/few representative to present their findings.

For my group of 6, my group members include Sue Hwa, Anna Neo, Tan Yincy, Qila, Pei Kei and I. We were honoured to be picked by Ms Ida Mazlan to be in her tutorial group as she had helped us a lot though out the whole semester. Our group was given the topic We had to make a presentation, through slides, to show our investigation on how drawings are communicated between the people involved. Our group had chosen the topic  Interior Architecture Drawings.

Through this project, I've learned that interior architecture required many different drawings until it reaches the finalized stage. Also, I've started to realise the importance of teamwork when working an assignment in groups and to listen to every wise advice given by lecturers.

Project I(b) (Individual 25%)

In this project, it had successfully introduced to students on how convention and calculation is used in this field. In a group, students are required to measure respective floor that they have chosen. And then individually, they have to come out with various kinds of architectural drawings such as: key plan, site plan, floor plan, circulation diagram and bubble diagram, and prepare a professional presentation board out of the drawings

 Key Plan

 Circulation Diagram

 Location Plan

 Bubble Diagram

 Site Plan

Floor Plan

 In the process.

Almost done!

It is actually called an individual project but when it came to measuring every details in the site area, it brought out great teamwork among the groupmates. My group mates and I were divided into two groups of three, three of them to measure our site, and the other three to compile our measurements together in a whole.

In conclusion, it was really a very interesting assignment, for me, because it was what I've been longing to do since I've chosen to take this course. This assignment teaches me a lot on ways to measure sites using measuring tape without being snapped by measuring tape (because my fingers were almost bleeding because of the measuring tape).
