TOPIC:
PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT & LEGAL IMPACT
ICI project 1 is a first group assignment for the subject Introduction to Construction Industry. My group members include Tristan (leader), Roy, Wei Shuen, William, Yi Qin and I. We held a few meetings to divide the tasks to complete maximum three A3 size presentation board among ourselves. We've also decided to do the design our presentation board on three A3 size black mounting board. Since it's about the construction industry, we've decided to use bronze coloured fonts to highlight the title of the presentation board and we've also added more hand-drawn graphics to make our board more attractive. After understanding the brief and research done by all group members, we jotted down the informations in point form for better understanding using short and simple sentences and started off with all the writing, drawing and colouring.
At first, when we just got the topic for our first group assignment of ICI, my group members and I totally had no idea about what procurement management and legal impact really are. All of us actually spent quite a lot of time searching for the right information about our topic and fully understading our findings. Besides, our lecturers, Miss Ann See Peng and Puan Has had also helped us a lot by giving us the basic ideas about what our topic is all about.
So basically, procurement management is mostly all about the input and output of process plan for a construction project, while legal impacts are actions taken by certain organisations after a building or structure collapse and the effects it brings. Other than that, I've found out that it is very important to communicate and practice interpersonal skills to harmonise the group and to avoid conflicts that would delay the progress of our assignment.
