ENBE PROJECT ONE : JANDA BAIK SITE VISIT

On the 28th of Febuary till the 2nd of March 2014, all of us made our first class trip to D'Ark Training & Resort Sdn. Bhd. in Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang, lead by Ms Delliya Zain, Ms Sufina, Puan Hasmanira and Ms Ida Mazlan. This three-day-two-night getaway is one of the most important requirement for this Project OneThe idea of this trip is to allow the students to experience nature and as to fulfill ENBE Project One which the students need to study, explore and observe the natural habitat. We are required to work on this project in a group of 5 to 6. My group members includes Boon Yi Chung (leader), Samaa, Edward Lau, Mohd. Syafiq and I (Team Windstone). Basically, Project One encompasses the site visit, making a documentary video, creating a scrapbook journal about our trip experience and making an infographic exhibition booth.

Activity One: Site Visit

On Day 1, all of us woke up very early because we need to gather at our campus as early as 7am. We left the campus at 7.30am and arrived our destination at around 9am.

W were able to see green elements everywhere and we could  relax our minds from the hustle and bustle of the city.

During the 5 minutes toilet break before we continue our journey to reach our resort.

 Cats everywhere!

Our room for our 2 nights stay, which is clean and spacious for 4 girls.

After that, we were allowed to walk around to survey and to pick our sites in our own group along the river next to our resort. We made use of our five senses to make observations for self experiences and we've also recorded the observations of our surroundings for self experience as well as for making scrapbook journal and our exhibition booth.

Our 10mx10m site.

(Woke up at 6am just to go to our site and take photos)

Photos taken at our site.

I'm sure that all of us were having fun time during the trip because our smiles never disappear from our faces. The other activities we've done besides site visit are:

Raft-making and water activites.

We took truck to a lake nearby. I got to say that the ride was really bumpy but we enjoyed a lot.

After creating our own rafts out of strings and bamboo, one team had to choose 6 members to accelerate the raft and two members to ride on the raft and compete whether which group could be the fastest to complete one lap. At the end, all of them decided that Audrey and I (both of our weights are around 40kg so imagine that) should ride on the raft because we're the lightest and our size is the smallest in our team, in order for the other six members to be able to accelerate the raft more easily and to make our raft more stable.

Next, water gun war started by Team Monster!
And all of us got wet.

After that, we continued on with paper boat making competition to see if which group's paper boat was the largest in size and could travel faster.

Activity Two: Documentary Video Making

During the trip, all of us were supposed to take videos about the whole journey and our own site based on creativity. The requirements of this video includes introduction about the side and the project, the five senses experienced at the site and awareness message to conclude the video.

Activity Three: Info Graphic Booth

The inspiration of my group's Info Graphic Booth comes from my book shelf back home.

It was too simple and more effort has to put in designing the graphics using Photoshop as all of the members in my group, including myself, are beginners in using Photoshop.

Honestly, Project One was one of the most tedious and challenging projects I've ever done in my life. I took a total of 8 weeks to complete this assignment. Judging by the countless number of sleepless nights I had to endure, I am wholly satisfied about the outcome. It was truly an amazing and one-in-a-lifetime experience doing this project. Although it was one of the most taxing assignments I've done so far, I learned a lot of things in the process of completing this project. I had so much fun making the info graphic booth that I look forward to Project Two.
