CTS PROJECT 2: BOARDGAME

For the final project for CTS in semester 1, in group of maximum 7 students, each of the students have to bring out their own board game proposal and their tutor will pick only one board game proposal which is the most interesting one as their finalised board game. The board game proposal chosen might not turn up to be the best game, hence, everyone in the group had to brainstorm and give creative ideas to make the board game special and interesting to play with.

My group members consists of 6 other guys, i.e. Darren Loong, Tristan, Roy, Gary, Adam and Lee JR, excluding myself. Being the only girl in the team, to be honest, I had never expected that my proposal will get chosen to be made as a real board game, since the guys never fail to come out with crazy and creative ideas every time I work with them. However, they never stop supporting my ideas and put lots of effort in upgrading the game mode of the board game in order to make it more interesting.

We've did tons of research from the internet, reading articles and watching numerous YouTube videos to improve my board game proposal and the storyline of our video presentation. We ended up thinking of doing a 3-dimensional pop out board game showing the exterior of the rooms in Taylor's University Lakeside Campus (TULC) as we put our venue of our game in TULC so that it would be easier for Tristan and Roy to shoot our video.

Above is out finalised board game design, with cards, manual and other important objects that have to be used to play our board game, i.e. golden wire coiled keys and dice.

Group photo! They are really one of the best team that I've worked with. Their spirits never die.

From this assignment, I've learnt that it's important to solve problems quickly and smartly in order to make everything was able to run smoothly, and I've learnt this good quality from the boys who could really think very fast. Besides, communication is very important in carrying out this project because different people have different ideas, without saying one's ideas or thoughts out, conflicts might happen and the project would not be so nicely done.
